Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps will start streaming on Disney+ Canada on November 5. Yes, if you’ve skipped the theatres you’ll soon be able to watch it from home as part of your Disney+ subscription for free.
The film stars Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, who play Marvel’s “First Family” — Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), Johnny Storm (Human Torch), and Ben Grimm (The Thing).
The story follows the team as they travel through space and face new challenges while trying to stay connected as a family. The film is set in a retro-futuristic, 1960s-inspired world, where they must defend Earth from a cosmic being and his mysterious herald.
The announcement of the Disney+ release came during SpaceCon 2025 in San Antonio, where fans could explore a pop-up version of the Baxter Building, the group’s headquarters. The event included film set recreations and interactive photo ops, following its earlier debut at New York Comic Con.
The movie is among the highest-grossing films of 2025 and has an 86% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Critics described it as “one of the best superhero movies of all time” (Ryan Britt, Men’s Journal) and highlighted its “jaw-dropping spectacle and epic action” (Josh Wilding, Comic Book Movie). The Fantastic Four: First Steps will also be available in IMAX Enhanced format for Disney+ subscribers, offering expanded aspect ratio and DTS:X audio for those with compatible TVs and sound systems. Of course you’ll need to pay for the premium subscription to get Dolby Atmos and Vision and 4K streaming.
The film’s original soundtrack, composed by Michael Giacchino, is now streaming on major music platforms, and a two-disc translucent vinyl edition is available at Disney Music Emporium and select retailers.
Disney+ pricing in Canada is also going up, and will kick into effect on the following dates, with newer subscribers getting hit once this movie starts streaming:
