Apple Adds New App Store Updates for Developers, Expanding its Policies

Apple has updated its App Store policies, adding three new features to assist developers in the review process. Through the latest updates, developers are able to submit additional items for review if an existing review is already being conducted.

As explained on the Apple Developer site, new options for submitting content and updates have been added. Developers can now “send additional items to App Review independent of an existing submission.” It’s explained that, for instance, developers can send one or more In-App Events in a separate submission, even if an app version is already under review.

A new version of an app that addresses bugs or software issues can be submitted as a separate version from any existing custom product page under review. Additionally, developers can submit one or more Game Center features, like achievements and challenges, in a submission that’s separate from a version of the app that’s under review.

Apple has also confirmed that it is doubling the number of custom product pages. With this in mind, developers will have more flexibility to highlight different content and features within their app or game. This could be anything from unique screenshots, app previews, or promotional text. Developers can now create and publish up to 70 custom pages. Plus, developers can assign keywords to these custom product pages to enhance discoverability.

Apple now supports offer codes across all In-App Purchase types. This includes consumable, non-consumable, and non-renewing subscriptions. As part of the latest expansion, developers can create codes for auto-renewable subscriptions that don’t auto-renew once the promotional period ends, on top of the aforementioned purchase types.

Starting March 26, 2026, developers will no longer be able to create promo codes for In-App Purchases in App Store Connect. Existing promo codes that have been created can be redeemed until they expire, however.
