Spotify Now Lets You Follow Your Favourite Concert Venues

Spotify now allows free and Premium users to follow their favourite concert venues, so you never miss a newly added show. Earlier this year, Spotify launched ‘Concerts Near You’ to help with the discoverability of local concerts. Now, it’s making it even easier to find upcoming lineups within the app.

Spotify users can now search for and follow local venues. For instance, in Toronto, concert venues like  HISTORY and Centre Bell can be found directly within the app. Over 20,000 worldwide venues have been added to the app, ranging from giant arenas to more intimate clubs. Within Spotify, users can find a venue, follow it and instantly access event calendars and show details.

The Live Events feed also refreshes daily. Increased from the weekly refresh, Spotify offers an always-updated list of concerts that may interest you. This includes personalized recommendations that take listening habits and location into consideration.

“Live music thrives when the right fans find the right ticket at the right time,” Rene Volker, Senior Director of Live Music said. “By letting listeners follow venues right in the app, and by refreshing the Live Events feed daily to highlight highly relevant concert recommendations, we’re turning streaming intent into real-world attendance. This helps venues fill to capacity and helps fans fill their calendars with concerts they’ll love.”

If you end up finding a concert you’re interested in, you can navigate through the event’s ticketing partner information to complete your purchase. Everything from confirmation to event details are made accessible through Spotify, so you don’t have to leave the app when setting up the next show to attend.
