Apple TV Drops New Intro, Made in Collaboration With Finneas

Following the rebrand from Apple TV+ to Apple TV, the company has partnered with Finneas on a new intro sound and video. The brand new intro complements the streamlined name and will be used prominently moving forward.

Finneas, a famed music composer and brother/producing partner to Billie Eilish, published the intro on Instagram. He later referred to the intro as “mnemonic” when speaking to Variety. “If you’re binge-ing the whole season of Ted Lasso or Severance or Disclaimer, you’re going to hear the mnemonic 10 times in one day,” he said. “So it’s gotta be something that’s like the bite of ginger between rolls or something, you know?”

As shown in the video, the new intro’s music is accompanied by an animation of the new Apple TV logo with a multi-coloured arrangement. This logo sequence has begun to be shown elsewhere.

According to Finneas, there are three versions of the intro that’ll be used. The first is a five-second version, which he explains is “what you hear before episodes of a television show.” The artist also reveals that a one-second version of the intro is going to be used as a sting when you see a movie trailer or internally when Apple shows the production company. Finally, a 12-second long-form version is also available and “you’ll see it in a movie theatre at the start of an Apple Studios original film, like Killers of the Flower Moon,” Finneas tells Variety.

Apple has already refreshed the Apple TV website, adding in the new colorful Apple One logo onto it. The company has been going through great lengths to refresh some of its identifying logos and branding for its services.

In Canada, Apple TV is available for $14.99/month.
