‘Toy Story 5’ Trailer: Woody and Buzz Meet Their Smartest Rival Yet

Disney and Pixar have released the first teaser and poster for Toy Story 5, set to hit theatres on June 19, 2026. The new film introduces a modern twist—toys facing off against technology.
The teaser reveals a new character named Lilypad, a frog-shaped smart tablet voiced by Greta Lee (Past Lives, The Morning Show, TRON: Ares). The high-tech gadget quickly becomes a challenge for Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and the rest of the gang as they encounter a new kind of threat to playtime.
Tom Hanks and Tim Allen return as Woody and Buzz Lightyear, alongside Joan Cusack as Jessie and Tony Hale as Forky. Comedian Conan O’Brien joins the cast as “Smarty Pants,” a toilet-training tech toy.
Directed by Andrew Stanton (WALL·E, Finding Nemo) and co-directed by Kenna Harris (Ciao Alberto), the movie looks into how classic toys adapt to a world increasingly driven by technology. According to Stanton and Harris, working with Greta Lee to bring Lilypad’s mix of humour and heart to life has been a highlight of the production.
Toy Story 5 will continue Pixar’s long-running franchise with a fresh look at friendship, nostalgia, and the clash between imagination and innovation. This fifth instalment of the franchise comes seven years after Toy Story 4 was released back in the summer of 2019. Can’t wait for this one!
