Sony to Release 27-inch PlayStation-Branded Gaming Monitor in 2026

Sony has announced that it is bringing a 27-inch PlayStation-branded gaming monitor to market in 2026. The new display is a further investment into the PC gaming space, allowing players to use the monitor on their PlayStation 5 as well as PC and Mac.
Via the PlayStation Blog, the new ’27-inch Gaming Monitor with DualSense Charging Hook’ is a QHD IPS display with support for up to 2560 x 1440 resolution. It features HDR support and Auto HDR Tone Mapping, which adjusts HDR settings during setup on PS5 and PS5 Pro. Additionally, the monitor will support up to 120Hz when playing on Sony’s consoles or up to 240Hz when on PC or Mac devices.
As far as ports are concerned, Sony confirms that the gaming monitor offers two HDMI 2.1 ports and one Display 1.4 port. Two USB-A and one USB-C ports can also be used with PlayStation Link adapters and other supported devices. The display also offers built-in speakers and a 3.5mm audio jack. The new PlayStation gaming monitor supports VESA mounting systems for a more flexible setup as well.
One of the most unique features of the monitor is the built-in charging hook for PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller. The standard DualSense and DualSense Edge are both supported for the hook. The charging hook is also on a swivel, so it can be hidden when not in use.
News of the new gaming monitor arrives soon after Sony revealed its PlayStation Pulse Elevate wireless speakers. Announced this summer, the speakers are designed to complement a PC gaming setup while offering the flexibility of moving with you around the home. The Pulse Elevate use the PlayStation Link technology, supporting PlayStation 5, PC, Mac, PlayStation Portal and a smartphone. The wireless speakers are also launching in 2026.
Much like the Pulse Elevate speakers, Sony has not released any pricing information about the 27-inch Gaming Monitor with DualSense Charging Hook. However, the company does state that the monitor will launch “in the U.S. and in Japan.” So, as of now, it doesn’t appear as though Canada will receive units at the immediate launch.
