Beats and Travis Scott Launch ‘Dare to Dream’ Campaign Film for Powerbeats Fit

Beats has partnered with artist Travis Scott to develop the new ‘Dare to Dream’ campaign film for the Powerbeats Fit earbuds. Inspired by a 2011 tweet from Scott, the short film was directed by Anthony Mandler.
Dare to Dream is a short film that was developed over a tweet Travis posted on March 5, 2011. The tweet has since gone viral after the simple statement “ONE DAY TRAVIS SCOTT WILL BE SOMEBODY” was made online. Nearly 15 years later, the film reimagines the tweet as a one-minute-long feature.
Beats helped recreate Scott’s childhood bedroom for the project. We see a young Scott working on music, producing on an iMac. We also see him wearing the original Beats Studio headphones, which Scott admits to loving when he grew up. The film then cuts to snippets of sold-out shows and crowds from Scott’s Circus Maximus tour. Wanda Webster, Scott’s real mother, then interrupts, telling him it’s time for school. Closing out the film, a pair of Powerbeats Fit are pulled from his pocket and worn.
“This film isn’t just about where I came from — it’s about the vision I had before anyone else could see it,” Travis Scott says. “Beats has been a part of that story since the beginning.”
The film was made in collaboration with Larry Jackson, the founder of Gamma. Jackson is also a long-time partner with Beats co-founder Jimmy Iovine. “Beats has always been powered by bold imagination — from Jimmy Iovine handing me the first Studio prototype in 2007 to the iconic campaigns that defined a generation. Returning now to help shape the brand’s next chapter with Dare To Dream feels like coming full circle,” Jackson says.
Beats’ Powerbeats Fit launched in Canada earlier this year. The earbuds support up to 7 hours per charge and up to 30 hours total with the case. The buds offer Active Noise Cancelling (ANC), Transparency Mode, and Adaptive EQ as well as hands-free use with Siri. They are available for $249 in Canada.
