Apple’s New 2026 Black Unity Watch Band Is Officially Here

Apple has officially unveiled its 2026 Black Unity Apple Watch band, continuing its annual tradition of releasing a special-edition accessory in honour of Black History Month. Announced today via a press release, the new band is called the Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop and focuses on the theme of connection — both cultural and community-driven.
The Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop is designed by Black creatives and allies at Apple and showcases the colours of the Pan-African flag: red, green, and black. Apple says the band is made by weaving recycled polyester yarn filaments around ultrathin silicone threads using advanced precision-braiding machinery. The result is a soft, textured feel that’s also sweat and water resistant, making it practical for everyday wear while still feeling premium. Up close, the band features multiple shades of red, green, and black, giving it more depth and visual richness than a simple three-colour design.

As with previous Black Unity releases, this isn’t just about the product. Apple says it’s also supporting organizations that promote creativity and connection in under-resourced communities worldwide, including Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Urban Arts in New York City, Youth Music in London, the Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney, and Enactus México in Mexico City. These grants build on Apple’s long-standing commitments to education, creativity, and economic opportunity.
The Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop is available to order today through the Apple Store online and in the Apple Store app, with in-store availability coming later this week. In Canada, pricing is set at $129 CAD. The band is available in 42mm and 46mm, in band sizes 0–12, and is compatible with Apple Watch Series 4 or later, Apple Watch SE, and all Apple Watch Ultra models (46mm band only).
One notable absence, however, is any official mention of a matching Black Unity watch face or iPhone and iPad wallpapers. In past years, Apple has typically released a Black Unity-themed watch face and wallpapers alongside the band to complete its collection. While images in Apple’s press materials do show a themed watch face, the company hasn’t said anything about it publicly — and there’s been no word on wallpapers either. It’s possible we’ll learn more in an upcoming iOS and watchOS update if Apple plans to continue that tradition for 2026.
