Don’t Buy AirTag 2 Yet: Original 4-Packs are on Sale Right Now

Apple today announced a long awaited update to the AirTag, debuting the second-generation with new features, but at the same price.

Before you buy the new AirTag, the original 4-pack has dropped in price on Amazon.ca, down 16% to $108.98, which works out to $27.24 each, far cheaper than the $39 price for just one (that’s on sale for $36 right now).

The new AirTag 2 features an upgraded U3 Ultra-Wideband chip that quadruples the precision finding range to 60 metres and includes a tamper-proof speaker for enhanced privacy. Only the new iPhone 17 lineup and Apple Watch Series 11 feature the U3 chip required to unlock the AirTag 2’s full 60-metre Precision Finding range. So if you have an older iPhone it might not be worth it to get AirTag 2 at the full retail price just yet.

While the original model lacks the new hardware updates, it remains the better value for most users as it uses the same Find My network and is currently discounted.
