Apple Releases Chinese New Year Film Shot on iPhone 17 Pro
Apple has released its annual Chinese New Year short film, titled “Glad I Met You,” continuing its long-standing tradition of celebrating the holiday through the lens of its latest iPhone.
This year, the film showcases the capabilities of the iPhone 17 Pro, highlighting its advanced camera system and cinematic features.
The story follows Lin Wei, a young woman who describes herself as an “NPC” (Non-Player Character) in her own life. She feels like an ordinary person following a pre-set routine, doing the same things and eating the same foods every day. Her biggest challenge is her inability to say “no” to others, which leads her to take on tasks she doesn’t want to do, such as pet-sitting for a friend who is going on vacation.
Lin Wei’s journey takes an unexpected turn when she encounters a stray dog that has been injured. Despite her initial reluctance and her lack of confidence, she finds herself responsible for the dog and embarks on a mission to find its home. Along the way, she interacts with various people and experiences moments that challenge her “NPC” mindset.
The film beautifully captures the bond that develops between Lin Wei and the dog, whom she eventually names “Xiao Bai”. Through her efforts to help the dog, Lin Wei discovers a sense of purpose and the courage to assert herself. In a pivotal moment, she finally finds the strength to say “no” to her friend’s demanding requests, marking a significant step in her personal growth.
As the film concludes, Lin Wei and Xiao Bai find a new home together, illustrating the theme of unexpected connections and the transformative power of kindness. Check it out and tell us what you think in the comments section below.
