Freedom Mobile has launched Lunar New Year promos ahead of the celebrated event that starts on Monday.
So what has Freedom Mobile offered? Its plan prices have stayed the same compared to a week ago, but the company has framed the $39 plan to now get 60GB of data plus a 10GB data bonus. Last week, the plan was at $39/70GB so nothing has really changed aside from the marketing messaging.
Beyond this, all plans $34 per month and higher get 888 free long distance minutes for 24 months to 14 destinations. The number 8 is considered lucky in certain Asian cultures. But the fine print says the actual long distance minutes are in the form of 1,000 minutes to Australia, Bangladesh, Brazil, China, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom.

Compared to last year, the 2026 Freedom Mobile promo for Lunar New Year is better. Last year only saw a $39/60GB plan without long distance minutes.
Freedom Mobile hasn’t put an end date on this promo, but the upcoming Lunar New Year goes from February 17 to March 3.
