Apple Music Connect Launches, Providing Resources for Labels and Distributo

Apple has launched its Apple Music Connect platform, offering a resource for music labels and distributors. Apple Music Connect enables these partners to upload press photos, provide promotional assets, and coordinate the marketing of an artist’s music on Apple Music.
On the Apple Music Connect portal, the company explains that the service can help boost momentum leading up to the release of new music. All in all, Apple Music Connect provides six core facets and tools for music labels to take advantage of.
A music label can publicize assets that work well within Apple Music’s templates. This can be custom social share cards, static photos or video assets in multiple colours and sizes to allow fans to post and share in meaningful ways.
Apple Music Pitch makes it easier to leverage labels and genre types so an artist can stand out. When uploading a pitch to the Apple Music editorial team, labels can add more information about priority releases and promotions to be considered for featured placement across Apple Music playlists, radio, genre pages, and category pages.
Labels and distributors can also upload press photos to offer more publicity. If an artist is being considered for a feature on Apple Music, labels will receive a media request. From there, labels can upload assets to Apple Music Connect.
If Apple Music Connect sounds familiar to you, it’s because the company has tried to leverage that name in the past. Apple Music Connect used to be a social platform, which was shut down in 2018. At the time, the platform allowed artists to better connect with fans and share content.
