Canada’s Top-Selling Games of 2025: Why 4 of the Top 6 Are Canadian-Made
The Entertainment Software Association of Canada (ESAC) has released its official year-end rankings for the top-selling video games in the country, and the results show that Canadians are playing a lot of local talent.
While the list includes global staples like Grand Theft Auto and Minecraft, four of the top six best-selling titles have direct ties to Canadian development studios.
The video game industry remains a massive pillar of the national economy, contributing over $5.5 billion to Canada’s GDP every year. This success is driven by a mix of massive international franchises that call Canada home and smaller indie projects that have gained global fame.
