Tim Cook Confirms a ‘Big Week’ of Apple Launches: Cheap MacBook Coming?

Earlier this month Apple invited media to a March 4 event, calling it a “special Apple Experience”. These events are set to take place at the same time in New York, London and Shanghai.

Many had speculated Apple would once again release new products via daily press releases, leading up to the March 4 event. Now, Apple has confirmed just that.

Apple CEO said on X today, “A big week ahead. It all starts Monday morning! #AppleLaunch”. This was reposted by Apple executive Greg Joswiak:

Cook’s post also shares a video of a hand swiping across the back of what looks like a MacBook, revealing the Apple logo. The company is rumoured to launch a new low-cost MacBook. It’s clear that is what’s likely coming.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, here’s what’s rumoured to come next week:

  • Entry-Level MacBook: A brand-new 12.9-inch laptop featuring “MacBook” branding, vibrant colour options (yellow, green, and blue), and an iPhone-class A18 Pro chip to compete with budget Windows and Chromebook devices.
  • iPhone 17e: The successor to the 16e, expected to include the A19 chip, MagSafe charging, and Apple’s first custom-designed 5G modem.
  • iPad Air: A refreshed model featuring the M4 chip for improved performance.
  • 12th-gen iPad: An updated base-model iPad powered by the A18 processor, bringing support for Apple Intelligence and the upcoming AI-enhanced Siri.

Whatever the case may be, we’ll have full coverage of all the announcements next week.
