iPhone 17e And Low-Cost MacBook Coming? Apple Teases New March 4 Event
Apple sent out media invitations on Monday for what it describes as a “special Apple Experience,” taking place simultaneously in New York, London, and Shanghai on March 4, 2026. You know what this means–new Apple products are incoming.
Scheduled for 9:00 AM ET/6:00 AM PT, the media experience looks to be on a smaller scale compared to a big event at Apple Park. The invitation features a stylized Apple logo composed of yellow, green, and blue glass-like discs, sparking immediate speculation about the colour palette of upcoming hardware.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman shared a picture of the invite and said the inclusion of Shanghai “rules out Siri”, given the delays. He also noted, “Worth pointing out the three colors from the invite are light green, blue and yellow — which just so happen to be the colors Apple has tested the low-cost MacBook with, as I wrote yesterday. Coincidence? We shall see.”
Gurman added, “There is no way Apple is going to hold on-stage in person keynotes in three places at once. They are bold but that would just be ridiculous. I would guess these things get announced online and the events are hands-on looks and deeper dives into the products.”
What To Expect: New iPhone, iPads, And MacBooks
While Apple has not officially confirmed the product lineup, here’s what we know so far according to Gurman:
- iPhone 17e: The long-awaited successor to the iPhone 16e is expected to debut, featuring a more modern design, the A19 chip, and the first-ever inclusion of MagSafe charging for the “e” series.
- Low-Cost MacBook: Rumours are swirling about a new budget-friendly MacBook designed to sit below the Air in the lineup. It is expected to feature a sub-13-inch display and could be powered by an A18 Pro chip to keep the price point aggressive.
- MacBook Pro & Air Refreshes: Refreshed MacBook Pro models featuring M5 Pro and M5 Max chips are likely, alongside an updated MacBook Air powered by the standard M5 processor.
- New iPads: A 12th-gen entry iPad (to finally support Apple Intelligence) and an 8th-gen iPad Air with the M4 chip are also tipped for a spring launch.
If you remember last year, Apple did not hold a spring March event either. It just announced a new M4 MacBook Air, iPad 7, iPad 11 and Mac Studio update all via press release on March 5. But this year, Apple is holding some hands-on events for the media in three major cities across the globe.
What are you looking forward to from Apple next month? Don’t buy anything until then…
