Bell 5G+ Advanced Now Live in Ontario: List of Compatible Devices

Bell has officially rolled out its 5G+ Advanced network, marking its fastest wireless speeds to date for customers in Ontario. The new service utilizes a 5G standalone core and updated spectrum to reach theoretical peak download speeds of 4.3 Gbps.

The upgrade is currently live across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area and is now expanding into the Niagara region. This rollout covers several major communities including Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, Markham, Vaughan, and Oakville.

Residents in Richmond Hill, Burlington, Oshawa, Whitby, St. Catharines, Milton, Ajax, Pickering, Grimsby, Thorold, and Niagara Falls also have access to the improved capacity and lower latency.

To access these speeds, customers must use a compatible device updated with the latest software. Supported hardware includes the iPhone 17 and 16 series, Samsung’s Galaxy S25 and S24 lineups, the Flip and Fold 6 and 7, and Google’s Pixel 9 and 10 series. Compatible phones will be marked with a 5G+ Advanced badge in retail stores and online.

“Connection is everything, and at Bell, it starts with delivering the best 5G wireless network to Canadians,” Blaik Kirby, Group President, Consumer and Small Business at Bell, said in a statement to iPhone in Canada. “With 5G+ Advanced available on the latest smartphones, plus expanded coverage across the GTHA and Niagara, customers can count on faster speeds, richer experiences and more ways to do what they love – today and into the future.”

This network update is designed to handle high-bandwidth activities like mobile gaming and high-definition video chatting more efficiently while laying the technical groundwork for future 6G development.
