Apple TV 2026 Friday Night Baseball Schedule is Here
Major League Baseball is officially coming back to Apple TV this month. Apple and the MLB have announced that the fifth season of “Friday Night Baseball” will kick off on March 27, 2026.
This year’s schedule features a 25-week run of doubleheaders available to fans in 60 countries and regions. For those who want to avoid the headache of regional blackouts, this remains one of the best ways to catch marquee matchups without local broadcast restrictions.
The 2026 season opener on March 27 features two exciting games: the Los Angeles Angels travel to face the Houston Astros, followed by the Cleveland Guardians taking on the Seattle Mariners. Apple has already released the schedule for the first half of the season, which includes plenty of high-profile matchups.
Fans can look forward to seeing the defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers and reigning MVP Shohei Ohtani several times, as well as the storied New York “Subway Series” between the Yankees and the Mets in mid-May.
One of the most interesting aspects of this season for tech fans is how Apple is further integrating its own hardware into the broadcast. This year, Apple plans to use the iPhone to capture “immersive new perspectives” during select games. By adding iPhones into the professional camera lineup, the production team hopes to give viewers at home a closer, more human side of the action on the field.
For the fourth straight year, Wayne Randazzo will handle play-by-play duties alongside analyst Dontrelle Willis and sideline reporter Heidi Watney. The second broadcast team features Alex Faust, Ryan Spilborghs, and Tricia Whitaker. To keep the energy high between innings, the studio coverage will once again be hosted by Lauren Gardner and Siera Santos.
Beginning on Opening Day, March 26, Apple TV will host the “MLB Big Inning” whip-around show. This program offers live look-ins and highlights from across the league every weeknight. Additionally, the Apple TV app will continue to provide a full slate of supplementary content, including “Countdown to First Pitch,” “MLB Daily Recap,” and “MLB This Week.”
