Hands On with the New Bluetti Elite 300: One Versatile Power Station

Bluetti is still on a roll lately, seemingly pumping out new and upgraded power stations every other month (I don’t know how they keep doing this). Their latest release, the Elite 300, hit the market earlier this month, and it is a beast of a unit packed into a relatively small frame.

While it packs a huge 3,014.4 Wh capacity, it’s roughly the same size as most 2 kWh units on the market. At just under 60 lbs, it isn’t exactly light, but for this much energy, it’s still portable and easy to move around for an adult. There are 2 handles to make it easier to carry. Heck this thing could also be used for working out as a make shift kettle bell.

Real-World Testing

We put the Elite 300 to the test during a recent power outage, and it came in pretty handy. It kept our fridge running easily. Since it features a 2,400W output, we were actually able to plug in an air fryer to cook some chicken fingers for the kids while the power was out, on top of charging our phones at the same time.

One of the key features is the 10 ms Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS). If the grid goes down, it switches over so fast that your Wi-Fi router or desktop computer won’t even reboot. That’s handy if you have a home office and your area is prone to power outages during storms.

I lent the unit to a buddy who is big into glamping, and they came back impressed. The Elite 300 is RV Ready because it includes a built-in TT-30 outlet and a 12V/30A DC port. They were able to plug their rig directly into the unit to run their whole RV. Those that need power for a van or motorhome the Elite 300 will cover many bases. But one downside is the system is not expandable.

One other thing is in the box you only get the AC charging cable, and won’t get a solar and car charging cable that we have previously seen in other Bluetti power stations such as their AC180. There’s also another hardware change, as Bluetti has swapped the older 8mm barrel connector for a more modern XT60 port. This means your old car and solar cables from previous Bluetti models simply won’t plug in. Something to keep in mind.

Fast Charging & Smart Tech

The Elite 300 has lots of charging options. It supports 1,800W AC Turbo charging (it charged up very quickly) and up to 1,200W of solar. If you’re on the road, you can use the alternator charger to juice it up 13x faster than a standard car socket.

The Bluetti App is also helpful. You can monitor your power usage, toggle outlets on or off, and schedule things like heaters or coffee makers to run automatically via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.

On sale right now for $1,699 CAD, the Elite 300 offers a ton of versatility if you can afford it. It’s compact but it is still hefty at 60 pounds, but there are lots of options when it comes to charging and powering on appliances and will be a boon to those with RVs for its size.
