Apple Confirms iOS 26.4 Release Date is Near With Final Developer Software

Apple’s final release of iOS 26.4 for the iPhone is just around the corner, because on Wednesday morning, the company pushed out Release Candidate builds for developers to test. This is usually the final build that will make its way to all users, unless there’s a last minute change.

Here’s what’s available to download right now for developers:

  • iOS 26.4 Release Candidate (23E244)
  • iPadOS 26.4 Release Candidate (23E244)
  • macOS Sequoia 15.7.5 Release Candidate 5 (24G624)
  • macOS Sonoma 14.8.5 Release Candidate 4 (23J423)
  • visionOS 26.4 Release Candidate (23O244)
  • tvOS 26.4 Release Candidate (23L240)
  • watchOS 26.4 Release Candidate (23T239)

iOS 26.4 will debut the Playlist Playground for AI-generated music based on text prompts and a new Urgent smart list in the Reminders app. The update also adds 8 new emojis and an accessibility toggle to Reduce Bright Effects, helping to tone down Liquid Glass animations.

With the recent announcement of AirPods Max 2, Apple revealed that iOS 26.4 will likely land just in time for the launch of updated headphones, slated for early April. That’s because AirPods Max 2 will require a device with iOS 26.4 and equivalent software to get the newest features.
