Rogers, Telus and Bell are Offering a Limited-Time $35/100GB Plan
Rogers, Telus and Bell appear to be offering up a special $35/100GB plan, that’s only available at Best Buy Canada.
If this pricing and data amount sounds familiar, that’s because all three carriers launched a similar plan at Best Buy during Boxing Day in December. Best Buy’s website says a $35/100GB plan is available “that you can use across Canada”. This is worse than the Boxing Day plan, which included talk, text and data use in the United States.
The plan looks to be $45 but after a $10 autopay credit, it gets slashed down to $35 per month. It’s unclear how long this plan will remain at $35, as Rogers, Telus and Bell periodically increase plan prices after a certain amount of time.
Right now, Freedom Mobile still has its 250GB global roaming plan available, but priced at $50 now (instead of $40). That is a better plan if you do a lot of overseas travel.
Best Buy is also advertising a $40/80GB Canada-US-Mexico plan with Fido, Koodo and Virgin Plus, along with a $40/175GB Canada-US plan from Rogers, Telus and Bell.
Now, you used to be able to call into Best Buy and talk to their cellphone department but they don’t answer calls anymore. You need to request a callback which is a total pain in the arse. There’s no end date on this plan according to the Best Buy website, but it likely won’t be around forever.
