Samsung Adds AirDrop Support to Quick Share on Galaxy S26 Series

Samsung has added AirDrop support to the Galaxy S26 series of phones, making it easier to share content using the device’s Quick Share feature.

AirDrop support has been announced for the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. With this, users can share content more easily with Apple devices over a wireless connection. AirDrop won’t be offered by default, however.

Users must toggle the feature on in the ‘Settings’ menu. From there, you can navigate to ‘Connected devices’ and ‘Quick Share’. Here, you’ll find the ‘Share with Apple Devices’ menu, and a toggle to enable AirDrop can be found. Additionally, users will be notified that settings must allow ‘Everyone’ mode to transfer files.

Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series is the second Android smartphone brand to provide native AirDrop support. This comes after Google added AirDrop support on the Pixel 10 series late last year. The Google Pixel 9 series also recieved AirDrop support in February. The Pixel maker created its own workaround for AirDrop, providing support without Apple’s involvement.

Samsung is rolling out AirDrop support to users in Korea now. Unfortunately, Canadian users will have to wait a bit longer, as will users in the US, Latin America, Europe, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, Japan, and Taiwan. Samsung says support will arrive “at a later date.”

The company also states that its AirDrop support will be available on more Galaxy devices down the line.
