Toronto Game Expo Opens Doors March 28 to 29

Toronto Game Expo is being held this weekend at the Enercare Centre in the city. From March 28 to March 29, attendees can check out the many vendors, tournaments and indie game showcase.
The weekend-long expo returns this coming weekend. Running twice annually, the ‘Spring Show’ is being set up in Hall G of the Enercare Centre. The Toronto Game Expo has become a hot spot for game collectors and audiences looking to get their hands on and try some new indie games made by Ontario developers.
This year, many indie developers are gathering to show off their games to attendees. At Toronto Game Expo, you can check out many titles, including, but not limited to:
- Retroronto (Starspray Studios Ltd.)
- Project Rot (Team MIST)
- Ambrosia Sky: Act One (Soft Rains)
- Once There Were Cats (Albedo Infomatics)
- Crownslayers (Ocean Mous Studio)
- Soulflame (Alex Eckardt Games)
If you’re hunting down some games for your collection, A&C Games will be in attendance alongside many other vendors selling retro games across generations and platforms. There will also be other booths set up, selling collectibles and merch worth keeping an eye out for. Plus, Toronto Game Expo supports an artist alley so if you’re in need of some new prints for your wall, this is a stop worth making.
As for the weekend schedule, Toronto Game Expo has many panels and on-stage activities. For instance, there is a panel on learning to play Magic: The Gathering on March 28th at 11 AM ET. There are also panels on voice acting, coding, and more taking place throughout the event.
Competitive players should also be on the lookout for the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Mario Kart 8 tournaments taking place. Winners can walk away with a cash prize of up to $300. Registration for tournaments can be found on Toronto Game Expo’s website.
This spring, the Toronto Game Expo is being held in partnership with EB Games, Asus, the University of Toronto, and Broken Games Collective.
Tickets for the Toronto Game Expo are still available. Single-day passes can be purchased for as low as $35 CAD. VIP and weekend passes can also be purchased.
