Fido, Virgin Plus, Koodo Launch $35/80GB Canada-US-Mexico Plans

After Freedom Mobile launched a $35/80GB global roaming plan today, the flanker brands of Rogers, Telus and Bell are jumping into the mix with their own Canada-US-Mexico plan.

Fido, Virgin Plus and Koodo have all magically trimmed their plan offerings to just two plans right now. The first is a $35/80GB plan that includes talk, text and data in Canada, the US and Mexico. The second plan is a $55/100GB plan that only has talk, text and data in Canada.

Fido

  • $35/80GB Canada-US-Mexico
  • $55/100GB

Virgin Plus

  • $35/80GB Canada-US-Mexico
  • $55/100GB

Koodo

  • $35/80GB Canada-US-Mexico
  • $55/100GB

If you travel internationally, the Freedom Mobile plan is better as it includes global roaming for talk, text and data, with 5GB available monthly. It’s kind of funny that the flanker brands still won’t play ball with Freedom and offer global roaming plans. You need to pay at least $85 for that privilege through Rogers, Telus and Bell instead.

What are the odds that all three of these flanker brands would have identical promos and plans available right now? This $35/80GB plan is only available for a limited time, until March 31, 2026. Who’s jumping on this?

Maybe the flanker brands see their subscribers leaving with Freedom’s promo?

That is what I did. Via fido to freedom. 09 mar 2026. Then got an rogers winback call 12th mar 2026. Rogers matched $40/250gb freedom deal. I ported to rogers as i have rogers bank mastercard. So my discounts , my predicted invoices is $35 or $40 (after the $5 discount ends).

All at the same time huh? Surely there is no collusion at all…

Is this plan available for existing clients? They are not listed on Koodo s client portal.
