Starlink Canada Slashes Prices to $49/Month in Limited Time Deal
SpaceX is making a move to grab more residential customers by significantly lowering the entry price for its Starlink satellite internet service. A recent email received by iPhone in Canada outlines a new promotion that drops the starting monthly cost to just $49 for the first four months.
This new pricing structure is aimed at making high-speed satellite internet more accessible, particularly in select areas where the company is offering $0 upfront hardware costs. Typically, the hardware kit ($499 CAD) represents a significant initial investment for new users, but this offer removes that barrier for a limited time.
The promotion includes three distinct residential tiers to fit different household needs. The entry-level Residential 100 Mbps plan is now $49 CAD per month, down from its usual $70. For those requiring more bandwidth, the 200 Mbps plan has been reduced to $89 from $110. The top-tier Residential Max plan, which boasts speeds of 400+ Mbps, is currently priced at $119, a savings from the standard $140 rate.
Customers who opt for the Residential Max tier also gain the ability to add a free Mini Kit to their account. This portable hardware is designed for those who want to maintain connectivity while camping, boating, or travelling in an RV across more than 150 markets globally.
Now, you need to realize these promo rates are valid for the first four months of service, after which the pricing will revert to standard pricing. Starlink also clarified that while these are the peak speeds available, actual performance is based on global network averages and is not guaranteed.
Availability and specific pricing may vary depending on the user’s exact location. Interested customers have until April 30 to take advantage of these discounted rates before the offer expires. To pay $49/month and have $0 hardware? That’s a decent deal if you’re in a remote area with no cable internet and can get high speed from Starlink.
