Tesla has begun pushing its 2026 Summer Release to vehicles, and this one leans heavily on Grok, personalization and a few features owners have been asking about for a while.
Grok gets the biggest expansion. The in-car AI assistant can now place phone calls, search and play music, adjust climate, open the glovebox, and answer questions about your car. Navigation also gets smarter, learning the places you visit regularly and suggesting routes based on where you actually go rather than just Home, Work and calendar events.
Here’s what’s included:
- More Grok commands. Phone calls, music search and playback, climate control, glovebox access, and answers to questions about your Tesla
- Self-driving stats in the mobile app. View and share your stats from your phone
- Caraoke with scoring. Caraoke now scores your singing while in Park, with high scores saved to your Tesla profile
- Automatic Navigation. Your car can suggest and route to places you visit often, like a school drop-off on the way to work or the gym on the way home
- Preferred Routes. Navigation now prioritizes routes you’ve taken before
- Set Arrival Energy from the mobile app. Pick your desired arrival energy from your phone
- Send custom wraps from the mobile app. No more USB drive, upload a custom wrap straight from your phone
- Rear Display Lock. Kids can watch content on the rear screen, but only the front row can control it
- Other improvements. Find Superchargers by name when searching for a destination, add Apple Music songs to the queue from search and artist pages, set your preferred zoom level for the Self-Driving visualization, camera and microphone support in the browser, and intro animations for the new Model 3 and Model Y
For Apple Music users, it’s nice there’s an update where you can add songs to the queue in this coming summer update.
Canada is Getting FSD v14 Lite for Hardware 3 Vehicles
Separately, FSD v14 Lite is now rolling out to Canadian Hardware 3 (HW3) owners, bringing the latest self-driving stack north of the border. This one recently gained new features to essentially match what’s available for FSD 14 for HW4 owners (via Tesla North):
- FSD v14 Lite 100-mile streak achieved, complete with the confetti animation.
- Version 2026.20.6.10 adds the active Full Self-Driving app display when FSD is engaged.
- FSD v14 Lite now includes the blue “P” park icon matching the AI4 interface in build 2026.20.6.10.
- Approaching destination alerts and Park Options are now displayed on FSD v14 Lite, bringing it in line with AI4.
- The new build adds the Self-Driving app along with full FSD streak tracking.
- FSD v14 Lite on AI3 hardware now starts directly from park without needing a brake pedal confirmation, offering a much smoother user experience.
