AI-Powered Google Finance Launches in Canada with New Research Tools

Google is taking its new AI-powered Finance platform global, with Canada among more than 100 countries receiving the update starting today. The rollout, which will continue over the coming weeks, brings a suite of new tools previously only available in the U.S. and India. Before, Canadians were able to access the Google Finance beta early by using a VPN, but that’s no longer needed.

The updated experience centres on an AI research assistant (powered by Gemini of course) that allows you to ask complex questions about market trends or specific stocks to receive summarized responses with source links. For technical investors, the platform now includes advanced charting tools, such as candlestick charts and moving average envelopes.

Beyond basic stock tracking, Google has revamped its news feed and added real-time data for both commodities and cryptocurrencies. A new live earnings feature also allows users to listen to corporate calls with synchronized transcripts and AI-generated summaries of the key takeaways, which is a big time saver.

The expansion includes full local language support, ensuring Canadian users can track global markets in the language of their choice. Google says the update will appear for users gradually as the international deployment continues. You essentially can ask any question related to any stock and Gemini will give you a detailed answer, all within Google Finance.
