You’re About to See More Rogers Branding and Tech at Toronto Pearson
Expect to see a lot more red the next time you fly out of Toronto. Rogers and Toronto Pearson have inked a new long-term deal making Rogers the exclusive telecom partner for Canada’s busiest airport. The multi-year agreement means major changes for the 47 million passengers passing through the terminals every year.
It’s not just about more logos on the walls; the deal includes some practical upgrades for travellers. Rogers is rolling out new business pods with charging stations and better tech so you can actually get some work done between flights. They are also launching portable charging solutions across the airport to save you from hunting for a wall outlet when your phone hits 1%.
As part of the exclusive deal, Rogers is taking over the advertising space and plans to set up sports and entertainment-themed zones to keep people busy during layovers. Toronto Pearson says the partnership came together after a competitive bidding process.
“We are building on our relationship with Toronto Pearson to bring more connectivity and entertainment to the passenger experience,” said Tony Staffieri, President and CEO of Rogers, in a statement on Friday.
The airport says this is all about using technology to make travel a bit less of a headache. You’ll start seeing the new branding in high-traffic areas right away, but the new workstations and charging features will roll out in stages starting later this year.
