Telus-owned prepaid brand Public Mobile is offering customers a special $40/150GB plan which includes talk, text and data in Canada, US and Mexico. The offer was sent via text message.
This $40 plan basically offers a 50GB bonus on top of the existing $40/100GB Canada-US-Mexico plan being offered on its website, but also includes 1,000 international long distance minutes. The text offer ends on April 23, and customers just need to reply “YES” to activate the promo.
Besides this text message offer, existing customers are also seeing the following plans once logged into their Public Mobile accounts:
Yes, that 150GB Canada-US-Mexico plan is there, but it costs $5 more per month.
Some others were also offered a $35/60GB Canada-US-Mexico plan.
If you travel outside of North America, a $40 plan from Freedom Mobile includes 100GB of data and also 5GB of global roaming. At this point flanker brands of the Big 3 will need to offer international roaming to really compete with Freedom.
