Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 to Release in 2027

After a decade of waiting and countless updates to its predecessor, Bandai Namco has finally confirmed that Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is in active development, and is scheduled to release in 2027.

While Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 has enjoyed an unprecedented lifespan, the publisher has confirmed that the last patrol is approaching, making way for a next-generation experience on the PlayStation 5.

The upcoming title, which was previously teased under the working name “Project AGE 1000,” promises to move the franchise forward by introducing a fresh timeline and a completely new world for players to explore. One of the most significant changes in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is the shift in its setting. While previous games focused heavily on correcting distortions in the classic Dragon Ball Z and Super timelines, Xenoverse 3 takes us far into the future to Age 1000.

In this era, West City has evolved into a vibrant, bustling metropolis that serves as the game’s central hub. Early reports describe a highly developed urban environment where players can encounter new characters and uncover original stories.

Bandai Namco also confirmed that the game will feature unique, original characters brought to life by the late Akira Toriyama. These designs were reportedly completed as part of the long-term planning for the project, ensuring that the legendary creator’s final touches will be felt throughout this new universe.

Built specifically for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is expected to be a massive technical leap for the series. By leaving older hardware behind, the developers are able to focus on more complex environments and faster-paced combat
