Dyson Launches Supersonic Travel Portable Hair Dryer

Dyson has officially unveiled its latest innovation in hair care technology with the launch of the Supersonic Travel hair dryer. Designed for life on the move, it brings Dyson’s fast, controlled drying technology into a compact, travel-ready format.

The new Supersonic Travel hair dryer packs the power of the original Supersonic into a frame that is 32% smaller and 25% lighter. James Dyson, the company’s founder and chief engineer, noted that the team did not simply shrink the existing model but completely re-engineered it to meet the unique demands of travel.

Despite its compact size, weighing in at just 0.7 lbs, the Supersonic Travel is equipped with a high-tech motor that spins at 110,000 rpm. This allows it to deliver the same high-velocity airflow that Dyson users expect, ensuring fast drying times even when you are on a tight holiday schedule.

One of the most impressive technical features is the intelligent heat control. The device measures airflow temperature 100 times per second to prevent extreme heat damage. This is a critical addition for travellers who may be dealing with different water qualities or climates that already stress their hair. By maintaining a consistent temperature, the dryer helps lock in natural moisture and increases shine by up to 138%.

The standout feature for international travellers is the universal voltage technology. The Supersonic Travel automatically adapts to voltages ranging from 100V to 240V. This means users no longer need to carry bulky power converters to ensure their tool works in different countries.

The Dyson Supersonic Travel hair dryer is available in Canada starting today, April 21, 2026, for $399.99 CAD, with the Styling concentrator attachment included. It is also fully compatible with existing Dyson Supersonic and Supersonic Nural attachments.
