First Look: Bell’s Giga Hub 2.0 Hardware Spotted in the Wild
A first look at Bell Canada’s latest hardware, the Giga Hub 2.0, has surfaced online. Images of the new modem were shared by a user on Reddit who received the device last month.
Bell first announced its Giga Hub 2.0 modem was coming back in December 2025. But so far it seems the rollout has been limited based on what’s seen online.
The Giga Hub 2.0 has a slim profile specifically designed to fit into wall cabinets. This design choice addresses common feedback regarding the bulky hardware often provided by other internet service providers. While the exterior has been refreshed, the web user interface appears to be consistent with previous Bell models.
Early performance reports from those using the hardware suggest significant technical improvements. One user noted reaching wireless speeds over 1500 Mbps on Wi-Fi 7, while wired LAN connections hit nearly 1700 Mbps on a 1.5 Gbps plan. Coverage also appears to be improved, with early feedback pointing to fewer dead spots compared to the original Giga Hub.
On the technical side, the hardware is designed for the newer XGSPON standard. It features a non-removable Optical Network Terminal (ONT), which differs from the older Home Hub 3000 units. While performance is generally praised, some users have noted the web portal can be slow to load and the CPU occasionally shows high usage while idling.
Bell seems to be prioritizing the Giga Hub 2.0 for customers on 3 Gbps plans or higher, though some subscribers on lower-tier packages have reportedly been able to secure the new unit. The rollout confirms that Bell is updating its home hardware to stay current with faster fibre standards and the expanding availability of Wi-Fi 7 technology across Canada.
Existing customers with can upgrade to the Giga Hub 2.0 for $7 a month or a one-time cost of $199.95. Bell’s Gigabit Fibe 3.0 or higher customers will get the modem at no extra cost.
Did you get the new Giga Hub 2.0 modem recently with your Bell internet install?
