Wealthsimple is Hitting the Streets of Montreal on 3,500 E-Bikes

BIXI – Wealthsimple

Montreal’s bike-sharing network BIXI has landed Wealthsimple as the exclusive sponsor of its electric fleet. Starting this season, the fintech company’s logo will appear on all 3,500 of BIXI’s e-bikes.

The deal also breathes new life into the AMI BIXI program, which tackles one of bike-share’s most persistent headaches: stations that are either completely empty or totally packed. The program rewards riders for helping rebalance the network by picking up bikes from full stations and dropping them at empty ones, reducing the need to move bikes around by truck.

Come May 1st, those good habits will come with some actual perks. Members can earn cashback offers, free e-ride credits, and a shot at a grand prize pool worth over $100,000.

For BIXI, the sponsorship is a welcome injection of cash for its expanding electric fleet. For Wealthsimple, it’s hard to beat the visibility of having your logo rolling through North America’s busiest cycling city all summer long.

Specific cashback amounts and prize eligibility details are expected on the BIXI website later this week.

Apple Maps can show you where bike sharing services are located, including BIXI bikes.
