Spotify Now Lets Users Turn Notes into Podcasts

Spotify has just announced the launch of Personal Podcasts, a new feature that allows users to take audio content generated by AI agents and save it directly to their Spotify library.

Whether it is a summary of your class notes, a briefing on your work calendar, or a detailed travel itinerary, you can now listen to it alongside your favourite music and professional shows. Spotify says many people are already using AI tools to create audio that helps them manage their day.

To get started, users need to use specific AI agents such as OpenClaw, Claude Code, or OpenAI Codex. These tools are designed to pull information from various sources, including your local files, recent web searches, and even your digital calendar.

Spotify has also released a Save to Spotify command-line interface (CLI) tool on GitHub. Once you install this tool on your desktop and sign in to your Spotify account, the process becomes very simple. You just describe the podcast you want to hear to your AI agent and ask it to save the file to your library. The agent then generates the audio and provides a link that opens directly in the Spotify app.

The possibilities for these personal audio files are broad. For students, it could mean turning a semester’s worth of philosophy notes into a progressive audio deep dive that helps with exam preparation. For professionals, it could be a morning Daily Brief that flags back-to-back meetings, checks the local weather, and suggests a regular podcast for the morning commute.

One of the most impressive examples mentioned by the company involves travel. A user could ask their agent to build an audio itinerary that includes flight details, the best route to the airport, and restaurant recommendations for the city they are visiting.

Spotify says these files stay private to the user, ensuring that sensitive information remains secure.
