Spotify Can Now Hold Concert Tickets For You

At its 2026 Investor Day in New York today, Spotify has announced a new feature called Reserved, and it’s exactly what it sounds like. The feature is Spotify’s way of holding concert tickets for an artist’s biggest fans before they go on sale to everyone else.

Two overlapping red Spotify 'Reserved' tickets with the slogan 'Tickets saved for real fans' against a warm, blurred background.

Spotify Reserved works without any queue, codes, or extra fees. It simply works by sending you a notification that tells you that two tickets are being held in your name, and a window of about a day to go ahead and buy them.

The company has teamed up with Live Nation on the program through a multiyear agreement. Spotify hasn’t dropped any artist names yet for the launch, but the plan is to eventually roll it out across tours of all sizes, not just the massive stadium ones.

It will be available to Spotify Premium subscribers who are 18 or older, starting in the US this summer. More countries will be added later. Spotify isn’t charging any extra fees for this. It’s included in the regular Premium subscription, which is a bigger deal than it sounds.

The streaming giant isn’t doing a random lottery or a first-come-first-served scramble to pick who gets the tickets. Instead, it’s looking at your actual listening behavior to decide if you’re a genuine fan. Things like how often you stream an artist, whether you share their music, and your general activity on the platform all factor in.

The company is also keeping a close eye out for bots and fake accounts, so don’t bother trying to game the system. There will be significantly more superfans than there are seats available on a tour, so not every fan will receive an offer, which is worth keeping in mind. Your location matters too. If the tour isn’t coming anywhere near you, you probably won’t get an offer regardless of how many times you’ve streamed the album.

To make sure you don’t miss anything, turn on concert notifications in the app, keep your location settings enabled, and make sure your app is updated.
