Apple’s After the Whistle Podcast Returns to Cover the 2026 FIFA World Cup

Apple has announced the return of its After the Whistle with Brendan Hunt and Rebecca Lowe podcast. On June 7th, just in time for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the two hosts return to provide insightful and passionate coverage.
After the Whistle with Brendan Hunt and Rebecca Lowe, as indicated by the name, is co-hosted by actor and cocreator of Apple TV’s Ted Lasso, Brendan Hunt. He is joined by Rebecca Lowe, NBC Sports’ Premier League host, as well as cohost on Fox Sports’ FIFA World Cup 2026 broadcast. Each episode is designed to provide a recap of the latest games, multiple times a week, as the 2026 FIFA World Cup tournament is underway.
The show is produced by Apple News and presented by Verizon. Each episode will be available “in the hours following momentous games.” After the Whistle with Brendan Hunt and Rebecca Lowe is being made available in audio and video formats on Apple News, Apple Podcasts, and other major podcast services.
“We are thrilled to bring After the Whistle back for a third season,” Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Services and Health, says in a press release. “Brendan and Rebecca have an incredible ability to capture the energy and passion of the World Cup. Their unique dynamic and deep love for soccer make this show an absolute can’t-miss for fans everywhere.”
The first episode of After the Whistle with Brendan Hunt and Rebecca Lowe arrives on June 7 as the duo tackles tournament previews.
In addition to the podcast’s return, Apple News is providing tournament coverage through third-party publishing partners, as well as up-to-date schedules, scores, brackets, and news feeds. Apple Sports, now available in 170 markets worldwide, offers live scores, stats, and more for fans.
