Walmart+ Launching in Canada With Free Crave and No Shipping Minimums

Walmart Canada is officially rebranding and expanding its subscription service this week, giving customers a major upgrade that directly takes on Amazon Prime.
According to an email sent to current customers and obtained by iPhone in Canada, the existing Delivery Pass subscription will automatically upgrade to a new Walmart+ multi-benefit membership starting on Thursday, June 4, 2026. The transition will happen at no additional cost to current subscribers.
The updated Walmart+ membership introduces massive new perks alongside existing delivery features. Subscribers will keep their unlimited free same-day delivery on grocery and general merchandise orders.
However, the new benefits launching this week include free shipping with no order minimums. Previously, customers had to spend at least $35 or pay a $7.97 flat fee. This change allows members to place smaller online orders without facing extra fees, matching a core feature of Amazon Prime.
In a surprise move, Walmart Canada is also bundling video streaming into the subscription. The upgraded plan includes full access to a Crave Standard with Ads streaming plan, marking the first time the retailer has included a streaming service for Canadian members.
The transition requires no action from current Delivery Pass users, as all accounts will automatically convert to the new Walmart+ tier on Thursday. The pricing for Walmart+ remains the same as before at $8.97 per month or $89 per year, making it slightly cheaper than Amazon Prime, which costs $9.99 per month or $99 per year in Canada.
Walmart launched Delivery Pass in the summer of 2023, originally offering free next-day delivery with subscriptions, but the program has since evolved to become much faster and now has no minimum shipping requirements. The move to Walmart+ matches branding for the same program that debuted in the U.S. back in 2020.
