The UFC Just Killed Pay-Per-View in Canada With This Paramount+ Deal
Canadian UFC fans are about to see a big change in how they watch numbered events. Paramount+ and the UFC announced a new six-year media rights deal today that will bring all numbered UFC events exclusively to the streaming platform in Canada starting in 2027.
The big deal for subscribers is that all 13 annual marquee events will be included at no extra cost. Right now, numbered events typically require a pay-per-view purchase on top of whatever you’re already paying for a streaming service. Under this deal, that goes away for Paramount+ subscribers in Canada. The new agreement builds on an existing seven-year international partnership the two companies struck last year, and now it has expanded to Canada.
“Beginning in 2027, Paramount+ subscribers in Canada will get every UFC Numbered Event main card live, at no additional cost,” said UFC President and CEO Dana White. “Paramount has been an incredible partner that understands the power of UFC, and together we’re going to make it easier than ever for fans in Canada to watch the biggest fights in the sport. I love Canada and I’m very excited for the fans to be able to enjoy the Paramount experience.”
Paramount pointed to early results from the US and Latin America as a sign of what’s coming. When UFC programming launched on Paramount+ in those markets earlier this year, it broke records as the service’s largest exclusive live event ever, pulling in over 100 million hours of viewership across 10 million households.
The UFC has been coming to Canada since 2008 and has held 37 events across 11 cities since then. Specific broadcast details for the Canadian rollout will be announced later this year.
As it stands, UFC rights in Canada for TV are held by Rogers Sports & Media, leading up to this Paramount+ debut in 2027.
Paramount+ plans start from $7.99/month in Canada with ads, while the Standard plan is $11.99/month and the Premium plan is $15.99/month, with annual pricing also available.
