How to Watch Xbox Games Showcase 2026 and the Gears of War: E-Day Direct

This weekend, the Xbox Games Showcase is being held in Los Angeles. On Sunday, June 7th, Microsoft is live-streaming its annual Xbox Games Showcase, followed by the Gears of War: E-Day Direct presentation.

Announced earlier this year, the Xbox Games Showcase focuses on “first gameplay looks and huge news on upcoming titles from our first-party studios across the Xbox family.” Microsoft has been keeping its plans during the Xbox Games Showcase close to its chest. However, the company does have many games on the horizon. This includes the awaited Halo: Campaign Evolved, which is expected sometime this year.

Recently, Activision revealed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, with a release date of October 23rd, 2026. While giving fans a brief tease of its campaign, developer Infinity Ward revealed that the game’s extraction shooter mode, DMZ, would be detailed on June 7th, presumably during the Xbox Games Showcase. Microsoft also has Minecraft Dungeons 2 and Fable releasing in the near future. Though in regard to the latter, Xbox recently announced its plans to delay Fable from its “Autumn 2026” window to February 2027.

One of the big games to get the spotlight is Gears of War: E-Day, the latest from Vancouver-based developer, The Coalition. This title, which serves as a prequel to the fan-beloved Gears of War franchise, is slated to release “later this year.” Immediately following the Xbox Games Showcase, the Gears of War: E-Day Direct is being livestreamed and focuses on “details, gameplay and insights” on the game.

Recently, Xbox chief content officer and EVP Matt Booty sat down for the latest Official Xbox Podcast. During it, Booty said not to expect to hear anything new about Project Helix, Microsoft’s next console. “Another thing about Xbox Games Showcase I’ll say is that the focus is going to be on these games,” Booty said. “We really want to focus on the teams and on the games. And this is not going to be a place where we talk about strategy broadly.

On top of game reveals, Xbox FanFest returns at Showcase, celebrating the brand’s 25th anniversary. This year’s FanFest is said to include “a look back at the last 25 years” of Xbox as well as a view at what’s to come in the future.

The Xbox Games Showcase is being held on Sunday, June 7th at 1 PM ET/10 AM PT. The live-streamed event will be available to watch on YouTube, the official Xbox Twitch channel, and Facebook.
