Tesla has rolled out a new Model 3 trim in Canada: the Premium All-Wheel Drive (AWD), which starts at $49,990 CAD. It slots neatly between the entry-level Premium Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) at $39,490 CAD and the top-end Performance trim at $74,990 CAD. By landing the new dual-motor option just under the $50,000 mark, Tesla fills an obvious gap in its Canadian lineup.

For the $10,500 jump up from the base RWD car, drivers get a second electric motor for all-wheel-drive traction along with a solid bump in range. The Premium AWD has an EPA-estimated 570 kilometres on a single charge with the standard 18-inch wheels, though stepping up to the 19-inch wheels trims that to 520 kilometres.

On the performance side, the dual-motor setup gets from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and tops out at 201 km/h. It also bumps peak DC fast-charging up to 250 kW, so owners can top up the battery quickly at Tesla Superchargers.

Despite being under the $50,000 threshold, this AWD Model 3 does not qualify for the $5,000 federal EV rebate (unlike the Model Y Standard at $49,990 CAD since it comes from the USA), since these cars are coming from Tesla’s Giga Shanghai factory. Right now, delivery timelines are saying August-September 2026 for these cars to arrive.
