Halliday G2 AI Glasses Launch with Built-In Display and Translation
New York-based Halliday has announced the G2, its second-gen AI glasses, built around a display that puts information in your field of view during meetings and conversations.
The big hardware change is the display itself. The first-gen glasses used Halliday’s DigiWindow near-eye tech, while the G2 moves to a binocular waveguide setup with dual micro-LED projectors. Specs come in at up to 1,600 nits peak brightness and 600 by 300 resolution per eye, positioned in the upper part of your field of view. The display dims automatically in darker rooms.
Rounding out the hardware is a four-microphone array with voice pickup up to two metres, a claimed 12 hours of typical use, and a target weight under 50 grams.
The software side is called Meeting Flow, and it splits into three groups of features. For following along there’s live captioning and translation, quick summaries and quick research. For tracking where a discussion is going there’s Thread Tracker, Decision Confirmation and Commitment Check, which flag unresolved items and confirm who owns what. Afterward you get a post-meeting summary, transcripts and an open-item tracker in the companion app. Halliday says more Flow features will roll out through 2026.
There’s no camera, which Halliday says is a deliberate choice for meetings, client calls and workplaces where recording devices aren’t welcome. It also helps battery life and weight. This makes the G2 AI glasses actually look more like glasses and not some huge bulky setup on your face (like the Snap glasses).
Beyond meetings, the glasses handle real-time translation in more than 45 languages, notifications, phone calls, music and a voice assistant triggered by saying “Hey Halliday.” There’s a teleprompter-style Cheatsheet mode for keeping notes in view, and a Stealth mode that cuts down visible display light. Controls include a touchpad on the frame, an action button mapped to a favourite feature, and a power button.
“AI has transformed how people write, research, plan and summarize, but the most important moments still happen live, in meetings, client conversations and the social interactions that shape everyday life,” said Carter Hou, COO and co-founder of Halliday, in a statement to iPhone in Canada.
Pricing lands at an expected $599 US retail (about $830 CAD after exchange rates. Pre-sales open July 21 at hallidayglobal.com, where a $10 US deposit locks in a $100 US discount. First shipments are planned for September 2026, and prescription lenses will be available. We’ll have more about the second-gen Halliday G2 AI glasses soon.
