Facebook Marketplace Gets Dedicated AI App to Make Selling Easier
Meta is giving Facebook Marketplace users a dedicated space to manage their sales with the launch of a new standalone app called Seller. The app is designed to help online selling easier with new dedicated tools.
The new Seller app automatically syncs with a user’s existing Facebook Marketplace account, carrying over active listings, message histories, and sales records. Anything created within the Seller app automatically posts to Facebook Marketplace, meaning buyers can continue shopping as normal without needing a new platform.
Features in the app include AI tools that automatically fill out listing titles, descriptions, categories, and suggested prices based on uploaded photos. Sellers can also post items in bulk, view detailed view and click counts, and manage buyer messages in a unified inbox that organizes chats by specific items.
Facebook Marketplace will soon turn 10 this year and now has over 430 million items listed each month globally. What makes FB Marketplace so good is that its algorithm will suggest items based on your viewing history and shoves things you don’t really need front and centre.
The Seller app is currently available on the iOS App Store for users 18 and older in the United States. While the app is not available in Canada yet, it should likely expand here in the future. But if you have a U.S. Apple ID, you can switch accounts and then download it in Canada.
