Sony has revealed the latest games coming to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog in August, with Helldivers 2, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, Vampire Survivors, and Hell is Us leading this month’s additions.
Helldivers 2 is the big one, and PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members don’t have to wait. Arrowhead’s hit co-op shooter joined the Game Catalog on August 12, coinciding with the launch of its major new Devoid of Liberty update.
The rest of the main August lineup arrives next week on August 18. Here’s what PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members can look forward to.
Helldivers 2 drops squads of up to four players onto hostile planets to spread democracy with a wide array of weapons. While exploring hostile territory, friendly fire is always enabled, making teamwork almost as important as surviving the hordes of alien enemies coming your way. The latest Devoid of Liberty update adds new missions to complete within the Void. New mutated enemies stand in the way of victory for players, including the Wretch and Crusher.
Warhorse Studios’ sprawling medieval RPG puts players back in the boots of Henry of Skalitz as he navigates war-torn 15th-century Bohemia. Expect a massive open world, demanding combat, political intrigue, and plenty of opportunities to shape Henry’s story.
One of gaming’s most addictive indie hits is also joining the catalogue. Vampire Survivors throws increasingly enormous waves of monsters at players while steadily transforming their character into a screen-clearing powerhouse.
Developed by Montreal’s Rogue Factor, Hell is Us combines third-person melee combat with exploration across a semi-open world devastated by civil war and supernatural creatures. Players follow Rémi, a UN peacekeeper searching for his missing parents while uncovering the mystery behind a strange calamity. The game joins the catalogue on August 25 in the US, the UK and Japan.
This colourful pixel-art party game brings together teams of Umamusume for four over-the-top competitions, including hurdles, basketball, dodgeball, and a food-themed challenge. It arrives August 25 in the US, the UK and Japan.
Two Point Museum puts players in charge of designing and managing their own museum, sending experts on expeditions and displaying whatever unusual artifacts they manage to bring home. It joins PlayStation Plus on August 25 in the US, the UK and Japan.
4A Games’ post-apocalyptic shooter takes players beyond Moscow’s underground tunnels for a journey across the ruins of Russia. Metro Exodus mixes first-person combat and stealth with survival horror and large, non-linear environments. The game is also being added only in the US, the UK and Japan on August 25.
Techland’s open-world zombie adventure combines brutal melee combat with parkour as players explore a civilization struggling to survive an infection. Decisions made throughout the story can also reshape factions and parts of the city. PlayStation Plus members in the US, the UK and Japan can play on August 25th.
Premium subscribers are getting another pair of older PlayStation titles this month.
Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams, originally released for PS2, follows Soki and his allies as they battle the demonic Genma across Feudal Japan. Disney’s Atlantis: The Lost Empire also returns from the original PlayStation, complete with up-rendering, rewind, quick saves, and customizable video filters.
The August additions are available to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers, though Sony notes that Game Catalog availability can vary by region.
