Toy Story 5 Streams on Disney+ Canada in September

Toy Story 5 is heading to Disney+ on September 23, just three months after it landed in theatres.

Disney and Pixar confirmed the streaming date Thursday, and it comes just at the start of back to school season so your kids can catch Woody, Buzz, Jessie and the rest of the gang at home. The film has pulled in more than $1.1 billion worldwide since its June debut.

The plot puts the toys up against a familiar villain for anyone with kids: a screen. Woody and company find their jobs threatened when Lilypad, a new tablet device, shows up with her own ideas about what’s best for their kid Bonnie.

Alongside the streaming date, Disney released a music video for the piano version of Taylor Swift’s “I Knew It, I Knew You,” the film’s original song. Swift wrote and produced the track with Jack Antonoff, and it’s available now on Disney+, Spotify and Apple Music.

The soundtrack is also up for pre-order on vinyl and CD, arriving September 25. Randy Newman returns to score his fifth Toy Story film.

Disney says the Toy Story franchise is the most-watched on Disney+ with over two billion hours streamed globally.

just three months after it landed in theatres”

why ”just”? This is a normal release window. In fact it’s rather delayed compared to the norm of 45 days since Covid.
