Rogers Extends Oilers Deal Through 2036 With 1,500 Ticket Giveaway
Rogers and OEG Sports & Entertainment have extended their partnership by another decade, keeping Rogers Place as the home of the Edmonton Oilers through 2036. The two sides announced the extension on Tuesday morning.
The timing lines up with Rogers Place hitting its 10-year anniversary. To mark it, Rogers says it will hand out more than 1,500 Oilers tickets to customers over the course of the season, starting with 300 tickets for the home opener against Vancouver on Tuesday, September 29.
“We’re proud to celebrate 10 years of Rogers Place with Oilers fans, and to continue investing in unique experiences that bring fans and customers closer to the game,” said Tony Staffieri, President and CEO of Rogers, in a statement.
Before the home opener, Rogers is putting on Oilers Fan Day on September 19, which includes an open practice, an alumni meet and greet, and a locker room sale.
Also new this season is the Rogers Goal Cam at the arena, which lets fans record and share their reactions to Oilers goals live from their seats. Rogers stays on as presenting partner of the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation 50/50 draw and the Every Kid Deserves a Shot program.
OEGSE CEO Hugh Weber said the company is “excited about what we can create for Oilers fans over the next decade.”
The extension builds on the sponsorship deal the two signed back in 2013, covering arena signage, in-ice and in-bowl branding, concourse placements and in-game advertising.
Rogers signed a 12-year agreement with the NHL last year for national media rights across all platforms in Canada, running through the 2037-38 season. Sportsnet remains the exclusive regional broadcast partner of the Oilers through 2035.

To be clear, this is a deal that continues the naming rights to the building, not that the team was ever leaving the building.
