Apple’s iPhone Price Hikes in Canada Just Spread to Refurbished Models

Apple has quietly increased the price of its refurbished iPhone 15 in Canada, with the 128GB model now costing $819.

That’s a $100 increase compared to the $719 price Apple was charging after the iPhone 17 lineup launched in September 2025.

Apple’s Canadian refurbished store currently lists the 128GB iPhone 15 in Pink, Yellow, Blue and Green for $819.

The increase is notable because Apple went in the opposite direction almost exactly one year ago. Following the launch of the iPhone 17 series, Apple dropped refurbished iPhone 15 prices in Canada, with the 128GB iPhone 15 falling by $130 to $719.

At the time, refurbished iPhone 15 pricing looked like this:

  • 128GB: $719
  • 256GB: $859

The 128GB model has therefore jumped roughly 14% compared to its September 2025 price.

Apple has not provided an explanation for the increase obviously, but it’s likely due to the memory shortage due to the AI server boom. Everything electronic that needs memory is going up in price.

Apple Certified Refurbished iPhones go through full functional testing and inspection. Apple says refurbished iOS devices also receive a new battery and outer shell, and also include a standard one-year limited warranty.

The pricing change comes shortly after Apple unveiled its latest iPhone 18 Pro lineup and iPhone Duo, making the refurbished store an alternative for Canadians who don’t need the newest hardware. But at $819, the iPhone 15 is now considerably less of a bargain than it was a year ago.

For now, it’s clear upgrading every year is pretty much pointless unless you love burning money. The feature changes are marginal now, so it’s better to wait a few years at least.

“considerably less of a bargain than it was” — a day ago! I’ve been watching prices and stock over the past month and imagine my surprise to see a price jump. RAMaggedon isn’t a great excuse for the price change since this RAM was produced 2 to 3 years ago before the market conditions changed.

Bull Shit! So now they are getting more money on a used product that they already got money on.
