Apple is preparing to unveil its next wave of smart home products at its ‘Welcome Home’ event on Tuesday, October 13, at 9 AM ET/ 6 AM PT. The event will take place in New York City, with a new smart home hub, Apple TV 4K, and HomePod mini expected to headline the announcements.

Where to Watch Apple’s Welcome Home Event

As previously reported, Apple is hosting a media experience in New York City rather than its traditional Cupertino keynote. Apple has not confirmed a public livestream, although Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman reports that an online video presentation is planned.

Canadians looking to follow the announcements should keep an eye on Apple’s Events website, Apple’s official YouTube channel and the Apple Newsroom beginning at 9 a.m. ET. If Apple doesn’t offer a livestream, product announcements and videos should appear through its official channels.

What to Expect from Apple’s Welcome Home Event

According to The Verge, Apple’s biggest announcement could be a dedicated smart home hub, reportedly called HomeView. The device is rumoured to feature a six-inch touchscreen, wall-mounted and tabletop configurations, and facial recognition for personalized information. It may also introduce homeOS, a new operating system designed around smart home controls, Apple apps and Siri.

Apple is also preparing refreshed HomePod mini and Apple TV models, potentially with faster processors and enhanced Siri AI.

Beyond Apple’s own hardware, LG-developed smart home accessories could also appear. These reportedly include smart locks, thermostats and security cameras, although their release may come later.

The announcements are expected to form part of Apple’s broader Siri-powered smart home strategy. Canadian pricing and availability remain unconfirmed, with Apple expected to share more details on Tuesday.
