XREAL has officially launched its latest augmented reality glasses, bringing Google’s Android XR platform, Gemini AI and Snapdragon-powered performance to a lightweight wearable design.

Announced October 28 during Google’s Android Developer Summit, the XREAL AURA is being billed as the first wired XR glasses powered by Android XR. Unlike fully enclosed headsets such as Apple’s Vision Pro, AURA features transparent lenses that let users see their surroundings while interacting with virtual displays and apps.

The glasses weigh less than 95 grams, with processing hardware and the battery housed in a separate wired puck. This approach keeps the headset relatively lightweight without sacrificing computing capabilities. Under the hood, AURA features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Reality Elite platform alongside XREAL’s X1S chip.

Its Sony Micro-OLED displays offer 1200p resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate and a 70-degree field of view. Other features include electrochromic dimming, Sound by Bose audio and support for hand tracking, voice commands, keyboards and game controllers.

AURA launches with access to Google Play applications alongside more than 150 experiences developed specifically for XR. Google’s Gemini assistant is integrated into the platform, allowing users to interact with digital content through voice and contextual assistance.

XREAL is also emphasizing productivity and gaming through its Wired Mirroring feature. Users can connect compatible laptops or handheld gaming devices over USB-C and display their content on a large virtual screen alongside native Android XR apps. The feature could be especially useful for portable gaming, letting users enjoy handheld titles without relying on a device’s smaller built-in display.

Launch titles include Fallout: Factions, Cubism, Chess Club, and Project Hail Mary: Journey Among the Stars. Sports fans can also access an Android XR version of the NBA app, featuring multiview support for watching up to three games simultaneously with an NBA League Pass subscription.

The company is also introducing a GameSir-developed controller with a dedicated Gemini button, along with a portable wireless keyboard.

XREAL AURA is available to order in Canada starting today through the official XREAL website. Two configurations are available, with limited-time promotional pricing running through December 2026. The 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model is listed at $1,099, down from $1,279. Meanwhile, the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage version costs $1,299, down from $1,499.

Canadian customers can order now. XREAL expects shipments to begin in mid-November.
