Apple Says Over 100,000 Apps Are Already Built for iPhone Duo
Just two weeks after launching the iPhone Duo, Apple has revealed that developers have already built and optimized well over 100,000 apps for the company’s first foldable device.
Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations, shared the milestone in a statement to 9to5Mac, noting that thousands of newly optimized applications are now flooding the App Store every single day. The rapid adoption highlights a strong start for the hardware, defying historical trends where major platform shifts often face a sluggish software ramp-up period.
Apple attributes part of this swift momentum to hands-on support. Over the past month, thousands of developers have participated in specialized workshops hosted across 19 cities globally. These sessions allowed creators to test the iPhone Duo hardware firsthand and fine-tune their layouts, multitasking features, and user interfaces.
To help users navigate the growing library, the App Store has introduced dedicated editorial curations such as “Popular Apps on iPhone Duo” and “Great Games on iPhone Duo,” alongside a distinct “Made for iPhone Duo” badge on optimized product pages.
Major enterprise and productivity players have joined the movement early. Software suites and popular utilities, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Zoom, Etsy, and Halide Mark III, already feature full optimization for the device, ensuring that early adopters have access to essential daily tools right out of the box.
As more creators finish optimizing their portfolios, the pace of new releases is expected to accelerate further through the holiday shopping season.
