Attention Mac users!
Did you buy Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard? If not, I highly suggest that you do. Beginning at $29, it is a sweet upgrade.
But more importantly, if you are planning to get Snow Leopard or if you already have, will you still be able to Jailbreak your iPhone/iPod Touch using Snow Leopard? The answer is: Yes.
The iPhone Dev Team dropped a note that Apple’s newest Operating System, 10.6 Snow Leopard, does not cause any troubles for any of the tools most of us use for Jailbreaking.
Below is a status summary for the various Jailbreaking tools:
- redsn0w can be used as normal with OS X 10.6, as well as Windows and Linux, to jailbreak your iPhone 3G/3GS on 3.0 and 3.0.1 firmware
- redsn0w can be used as normal with OS X 10.6, as well as Windows and Linux, to jailbreak/unlock your iPhone 2G on 3.0 and 3.0.1 firmware
- ultrasn0w via Cydia can be used as normal to unlock your iPhone 3G/3GS
- PwnageTool for Mac can be used as normal to create custom IPSW’s
In other words, business is normal. Meow.
