A recent interview in Rolling Store had developer Dong Ngyuen reveal why he removed his game, as the fame and ‘pressure’ overwhelmed him. The game has surpassed 50 million downloads and was earning Nguyen $50,000 per day back in February.
Even with his game removed from the App Store, existing downloads still generated ads and revenue for Nguyen. I’m sure his bank account helped him have a change of heart.
Was this all a brilliant marketing move? We’ll never know…
